The Happy Prince tells the little bird about a woman with a sick son. He wants the bird to take her a jewel from his sword. The bird replies that the winter is near and his friends are waiting for him, but he agrees to do this for him. So, the bird flies to the woman's house and drops the jewel on the table and goes back to tell the Prince what he has done. The Prince tells him that he has more jobs for the bird. Even though the weather is colder, the bird helps the Prince. He delivers one of the Price's eyes to a starving writer and the other to a poor match-girl. He peeled off the Prince's gold skin to give to others that were in need.
